John Shearman's 70th
Sunday 3rd January, 2021: after our service of Holy Communion, we took the opportunity to wish John Shearman a very happy 70th birthday. John and Lynn have been a key part of the re-born St George's community from the outset. John has given much time and talent to the church, serving on the PCC as Treasurer and being the go-to man when work needs doing in and around the building. He has a vital role as one of the lay people who leads services when no priest is available. We are fortunate indeed to have John and Lynn with us, particularly at this time of year, when they have been known to transfer to warmer climes. We're most grateful for all that John and Lynn do, and for their warm friendship. We wish them and their beloved Tottenham Hotspur a very happy 2021.
Christmas 2020 at st george's - and david's retirement (part 2)
At our Service of Lessons and Carols on Sunday 20th December, we said 'au revoir' to David and Lesley Phillips for a second time. Although David officially retired from his post as Chaplain a year ago, he kept services going throughout the year, sometimes in church and sometimes on Zoom. David, we owe you a huge debt of gratitude and are both pleased and grateful that we will continue to see you celebrating Holy Communion here once a month until you and Lesley complete your move back to the East Riding.
